In seawater desalination filtration, metal filter cartridges are typically used for preliminary filtration at the inlet of the seawater purification system. Because seawater may contain various minerals and microorganisms, pre-filtration is necessary before it is conveyed to other process equipment.

Unfiltered seawater can cause wear and damage to subsequent precision equipment. Large particles and organic matter in seawater can clog treatment equipment, reducing treatment efficiency and increasing treatment costs.

Wastewater filtration is commonly used to treat large volumes of wastewater from domestic, industrial, or commercial activities. Wastewater typically contains various solids or impurities, such as clay, sand, colloids, microorganisms, and organic matter. Metal filter cartridges are first used for pre-filtration to protect subsequent treatment equipment, improve filtration efficiency, enhance the quantity and quality of wastewater treatment, while reducing treatment costs and ensuring good treatment results.
